Recycle Week 2010

This years recycle week will focus on wasting less and recycling more, particularly when it comes to Waste Electricals

Let's waste less, particularly when it comes to electricals, known as WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).

Over recent years rapid changes in technology have made electrical goods cheaper and increased consumer demand meaning an ever increasing volume of WEEE Waste to be treated. Following the introduction of the WEEE Directive in 2007 all WEEE waste produced by business end users has been banned from landfill and must be treated at an Approved Authorised Treatment Facility (AATF).

There are 10 separate catagories of WEEE Waste, all of which can be recycled. Some of these, such as fridges and CRT monitors are also subject to the Hazardous Waste Regulations.

Not sure how to go about disposing of WEEE correctly, futur provide fully compliant WEEE waste collection services for all business end users. Contact us for further information and to request a quote.
